An IBM model M keyboard, well a reproduction one made by Unicomp. Still, almost brand new $70 keyboard was in a pile of old stuff the university was giving away! So what can I tell about it so far?
The buckling springs sond awesome!
It's heavy as hell! This damn thing weighs like 7 pounds! You probobly couldn't break it even if you attacked it was a crowbar!
It's really comfy and the keys feel good.
Overall it was an awesome find! Also I got about 100 pounds of biology books for my brother (which I had to carry half a mile to the other side of campus).

I have a Model M on my desktop and it is THE GREATEST KEYBOARD EVER. Enjoy it! How the fuck did you get it for free?! Can you go back to that pile and find more crap?

I have a keyboard with ALPS white complex switches. Glorious racket, that. My sister's friend broke my Model M by spraying it with hair stuff that corroded the hell out of it nearly instantly

Damn, Haha. Nice.
And I thought that I got a good deal having to clean cockroach shit and such out of this nasty ass old thing. I've got to replace all the fucking rivets inside of it also.

Fuckin' awesome score, dude. I grew up with keyboards like that. We never had a Model M, but we had a Fujitsu FKB4700 (it used Fujitsu Peerless switches, very close to the buckling springs) and it was great.

The joy of the mechanical keyboard. So satisfying, so robust. I always loved the feel, and then when I started working with computers 9-11 hours a day for work I appreciated it even more.

One day I'll have a mechanical keyboard. When I can afford it.
I love the feel, I'm just not a big fan of the sound. I don't being loud while I'm at the computer - especially if I wake up my roommate. I know they sell quieter Cherry-switch mechanicals nowadays, but they aren't cheap.... :'(

I can not use a keyboard without the win-key. I use it far too often for shortcuts.
Pretty good to get it free though. I've got a Cherry MX Red mechanical keyboard myself. I like how light the keys are. Not to everyone's taste, but I enjoy it.

Nah, it's from the early 90s. Some generic A-Open thing.
